This is my first audiobook by Susannah Nix and she did not disappoint. Omg, I absolutely loved this audiobook! It’s a standalone, but from what I understand it’s part of the interconnected King Family universe of Susannah’s. Which means I’m about to spend all my audible credits. I fell in love with Casey immediately. She’s a socially awkward nerd with anxiety, and I’m here for it. Gareth is a hunky firefighter who happens to be her brother’s best friend, and their roommate. He’s funny, sweet, protective, and super hunky. He also competes in the Highland games in a kilt. Swoon! Their banter is hilarious. Their chemistry is intense and real. I loved every single moment of this story. This review is short and sweet, but trust me, you HAVE to read or listen to this one! Callie Dalton and Lee Samuels were cast perfectly for their roles. Their timing, pitch, pace, and tones were excellent. Their characterizations were spot on. This book had the perfect combination of laughs and steam, and the narrators expertly alternated between them. They really embodied the MC’s and brought their story to life. I highly recommend the audiobook version of Kilt to Order!
