I’m a sucker for tropes like grumpy sunshine, enemies to lovers, and small town. This story has all that and then some. Caleb and Paisley Dae do not get off on the right foot. But she’s the best horse trainer, and Caleb will settle for nothing less than the best for his daughter Evelyn. He reluctantly hires Paisley, and that’s where the fun begins. Paisley has had her fair share of jerks, heartache, and trials. She’s taking none of Caleb’s attitude, and I’m so here for it. Paisley and Caleb fight hard against their attraction. But soon enough, they admit defeat and give into their attraction. The chemistry was off the charts. The story was well-written and kept me intrigued from start to finish. The characters were well-developed and easy to connect with. I especially love Evelyn, and what an attentive and caring dad Caleb is. For all his tough exterior (and dirty mouth) he has a heart of gold. This was a heartwarming story with the perfect amount of romance, suspense, and steam. Joe Arden and Andi Arndt were cast perfectly for their roles. Honestly, they could be cast to narrate the phone book and I’d listen to it. Their timing, pitch, pace, and tones were exemplary, as always. Their characterizations were spot on. They easily flowed between characters without skipping a beat. And they easily navigated every aspect of the story from fun, romantic, suspenseful, and steamy. They brought the story and its characters to life. I’m so glad I listened to this story versus reading it. It made the experience so much more engrossing. I highly recommend the audio version of Love Me Today!
