Like the first book, I have to praise the cover of this one. It’s absolutely stunning and really draws you in. Chris Patchell does an excellent job at giving us a story with a high level of suspense from start to finish. I love police officer Lacey James. She’s a smart, strong, and determined female lead. Audrey Drummond is such a great character. Very relatable and likeable. It was easy to feel connected to her and follow her tortious journey. I’d like to see her ex-boyfriend in the next book as one of the victims after what he did to her. Just saying. The one thing I don’t like about the story is Lacey and Caleb’s relationship. They need to make a decision. $h!t or get off the pot. But that’s just a personal opinion and doesn’t distract from the story. I did enjoy the strong feelings and tension it gave to the story. This was another unputdownable listen from Chris Patchell!

Cassandra Medcalf was perfectly cast for this role. Her timing, pitch, pace, and tones were spot on. She really brought this story to life. her characterizations were excellent. Between the first audiobook and this one, Cassandra has definitely developed a strong connection to the characters and portrays each with their own uniqueness. She projected every character’s emotions flawlessly. I highly recommend the audiobook version of this book.
