I love a good slow burn romance. Mari Carr gave me a slow burn with TWO hot men. She knows the way to my heart. Actually, it’s Jess that has my heart. She has been hung out to dry by everyone in her life. Everyone except her sweet and loving little boy Jasper. Poor Jess are Jasper are sleeping in her car when Tony Moretti and Dr. Rhys Beaumont find them and take them in. They are drawn to Jess in a way they have never felt before. Jasper quickly captures their hearts as well. I absolutely adored Tony & Rhys’ friendship. Even though they come from different worlds, they balance each other out. And then there’s Jess to complete them. When it comes to Jess, they are both tender, devoted, and protective. I loved the dynamic with Tony’s family. Their big hearts and abundance of love gave Jasper the family and childhood he’s longed for. This story was the perfect combination of sweet, heartwarming, and spicy.
Marina Barrett, Tim Sinclair, and Oliver Highpoint were perfectly cast for their roles. Their timing, pitch, pace, and tones were stellar. The characterizations were excellent. They really embodied each character, bringing them to life. I can’t imagine anyone telling this story as well as they did. They made the slow burn worth the wait. I highly recommend the audiobook version of this story. Thank you to Pink Flamingo Productions for gifting me this spicy and heartwarming audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
