This is my first book from Catherine Bybee, and it definitely won’t be my last! I absolutely loved this book and it’s setting of Little Italy in San Diego. Catherine’s writing is exceptionally detailed. I could picture and feel the restaurant and town as if I’d been there before. Luca D’Angelo and Brooke Turner have an instant and undeniable connection. I adore Luca’s daughter Fanny. She’s fierce and feisty, just like the rest of her Italian family. Brooke is loving and loyal, sometimes to her own detriment. But with Fanny and Luca, that love and loyalty is appreciated and reciprocated. Brooke has a big burden to bear with her father, especially after the upbringing she’s had. Luca shows her that he’s more than a lover, but also someone she can count on to help her carry that load. He’s supportive, protective, sincere, family oriented, and can cook. SWOON!! I could go on and on about how wonderful the MC’s and D’Angelo family are. Catherine Bybee made it impossible for me not to fall in love with everyone. The plot is well-developed with perfect flow, and the characters are realistic and relatable. This story has the perfect blend of love and romance. An absolute must read for contemporary romance fans!
