Saving Silver

NEW ALC REVIEW FROM DANA

Saving Silver (The Draak Legacy #1)

By Xavier Neal

Narrated by Oliver Highpoint & Mooreghan Martin

Produced by Pink Flamingo Productions

Longing for a new power couple to listen to? Meet Z (Zilveren) and Dr. Adae Russo! I absolutely love this couple and this story. I enjoyed listening to Adae experience life once she’s awoken to her world full of mythical creatures. I got a kick out of Z’s conversations with his dragon side, Silver. So grumpy and hilarious. I love the bond shared between the dragon shifters. It reminds me of JR Ward’s BDB series. They are brothers and best friends, loyal to each other, their kind, and their mates. I love the twist Xavier Neal gives dragon shifters by introducing terms for humans as sleepers and awakers. The characters are fantastic, quirky, and loveable. She’s created an intriguing new world full of love, humor, and suspense. This was such a fun listen, and I cannot wait to see where the rest of the series takes us!

“Mother of dragons, you look like something that belongs on my tongue.”

Oliver Highpoint was cast perfectly for this role. I especially love how he portrayed Z and Silver, as well as the other dragon shifters. His transition to Adae when relaying her parts was superb. I thought he and narrator Mooreghan Martin worked well together with great timing and pitch. Sadly, I have to say that I didn’t think Martin was the right narrator for this role. I think she’s very good, but it just didn’t feel like the right fit for Adae. I hate saying that because she’s not a bad narrator at all. I just don’t think she was the right fit for this role, and I didn’t care for her transitions to relay the male parts.

4-1/2 stars!
