The Living Canvas (duet conclusion)

New Audiobook Review from Dana

The Living Canvas

(Master of Trickery Duet #2)

by Pepper Winters

Narrated by Will M. Watt & Felicity Foster

“Just remember, nothing lasts forever. Good, bad, terrible—it all passes in the end.”

Today I sobbed at my desk while muttering owls, otters, and Olive Oil. Now my boss thinks I’m weirder than he already did. But who cares! This duet was epic! The Living Canvas picks up right where The Body Painter left off. If you thought the cliffhanger was wild, just wait until you see what happens next! It’s hard to write a review for this without giving spoilers. Let me just say, you think you know but you have no idea. The shock factors and twists in this audiobook are intense. In most books, it’s the characters who go through angsty emotions, but with this story it’s the reader. I couldn’t catch my breath! I raged, I cried, I begged, I prayed, and then I cried some more. I don’t know how Pepper Winter’s comes up with these intense, magical, and epic stories, but I hope she never stops. She writes the most unique, twisted, dark, beautiful, emotional, and all-consuming stories I have ever read/listened to.

“You’re a walking gift of pain, Gilbert Clark.” “And you’re the ultimate gift of redemption, Olin Moss.”

Will M. Watt and Felicity Foster are a dream team for this audiobook [duet]. They were perfectly cast for their roles. This is such an intense, traumatic, tragic, and passionate story. They embraced it and embodied their characters. The timing, pitch, pace, characterizations, and tone were exemplary. Listening to this book versus reading it was heartbreaking. It tore me up. The duet narration made this listening experience so much more engrossing. This duet would not have been the same without them. They brought the story to life and enhanced the emotional experience. I highly recommend the audio version of The Body Painter! Thank you to Valentine PR for gifting me this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

“It’s always been you. It will always be you. I don’t know how to survive without you.”
