If you’re looking for a reverse harem with some mafia suspense thrown in, keeping scrolling because Psychos is so much more than that. Holy assassin’s castle, Batman! I was not prepared for this ride. This audiobook was intensely dark and full of suspense. Psychotic doesn’t begin to describe the DeAngelis Brothers. I think so far, I’m team Marcus. But I’m more than happy to give Roman and Levi a shot. They’re sociopaths. Ruthless killers. Dark, depraved, evil, twisted, and broken. They kidnap Shayne from her apartment after her pos father gifts her to clear his debt. They are brutal, unhinged, and relentless in their games, which are meant to break her down. Products of their upbringing, they are just as much prisoners in that castle as she is. (Btw, I’ve named it Castle WTF. I think it’s fitting.) Slowly but surely, they break Shayne down and bring out the crazy that’s been hiding inside her. The smeggsy times are less than you normally would anticipate in a reverse harem. But trust me, those moments aren’t lacking in any way. Talk about kink and steam! This story is so suspenseful and enthralling. I already knew it was going to end on a cliffhanger, but man oh man, what a cliffhanger! There was already dark mystery in this story, but the last chapter heightened that immensely. Buckle up readers/listeners because this is one hell of a ride!

Kelsey Navarro and Blake Lockheart were perfectly cast for their roles. We only hear Blake narrate for a very short period, but that’s enough to see how brilliantly he brings these 3 brutal alphas to life. Kelsey is absolutely amazing as always. Shayne’s fear is palpable, and Kelsey really embraces that. Though she’s terrified, she’s also strong, feisty, and sassy. I can’t imagine any other narrator doing a better job portraying Shayne. I’m not saying reading the print version of this story wouldn’t be great, but you can’t convince me that these brilliant narrators didn’t intensify the suspense and make this experience that much better.
