I’d never read Kate Canterbary before, nor did I read the first 2 books in this series. I was drawn in by the cover, read the description, and had to have it. Seriously the cutest blurb ever. Kate Canterbary gave us an unforgettable story with relatable, unique, and interesting characters. The humor, quirkiness, and over-all back and forth between the characters is fantastic. Linden and Jasper-Anne are couple goals. Jasper-Anne is a hot mess. Strong and independent with the most unique peculiarity about her and a heart of gold. Linden is like a growly teddy bear. He has no idea what to do with Jasper-Anne. His efforts to break through her walls are hilarious and heartfelt. He’s sees her. Truly sees her. Not to mention he’s big, burly, strong, attentive, and {ahem} thick. He’s literally the perfect guy. I would not hesitate to climb that man like a tree! I don’t care that I’m married or that he’s fictional, I still want to marry him. Good lawd, Kate! This is why single women can’t find men and married women like myself want to smack their husbands—because fictional men like Linden don’t exist in the real world. When I say this book is seggsy, I mean it’s filthy, naughty, and intense, and I’m here for ALL OF IT!!!!!! I finished this audiobook a week ago and I’m still having hot flashes from it.

Zachary Webber is hands-down one of the best male narrators out there. His name on this is one is one of the reasons I bought this audiobook. Linden is such a growly grumbly character and Zachary expertly embraces that. I’d listen to that man read the phone book. I’m not sure I’ve listened to Jo Raylan before but I’m absolutely in love with her now. She really embraced Jasper-Anne’s emotions and persona. These two narrators were cast perfectly for their roles. They made the witty banter come alive. And the way they narrated the seggsy scenes together was epic! I highly recommend the audiobook version of this story!

Warning: This hot, modern take on Beauty and the Beast includes a meet-burglary, an immortal cat, a biohazard of a banana bread, a meddling mother, fancy toast, and a temporary fling that starts feeling a little too permanent.
