This is an honest review for an arc received.
Christian & Kinsley Troy have been together since their teenage years. Now married and well into adulthood, they are having marital problems. Christian is a very successful OBGYN and Kinsley is a univeristy professor. Both dedicated to their careers, they are missing the one thing that they both want, children.
After years of trying for a child and being unsuccessful, Kinsley asks for a divorce, which is shocking to Christian. Determined not to lose his wife or best friend, he fights for her. But these two characters are both damaged. Kinsley by the guilt she feels, and Christian by the blame he doesn’t even realize he places on Kinsley. This event is the catalyst to one of the issues that they are facing. They also lost the ability to communicate. You get to see both sides and feel the grief that they both feel.
4 1/2 stars! This book was a whirlwind. I did enjoy how M. Robinson jumps right into the story, but also how she gives glimpses of their pasts to build a complete story. Proving words can cut deep, the loss of communication and the complacancy they have with each other, you can see why they are in the situation that we find them. I did love how Christian never gave up on Kinsley, and I did like how Kinsley grew as a character. I thought the ending was perfect.
