Sweeper by Amy Daws

This is an honest review for an arc received.

“I’ve been a fumbling moron around you since the moment I arrived in London.”

To say that I’ve been anxiously waiting this book is a total understatement. Zander Williams was everything that I was hoping for! He’s an American socceer player that has recently been recruited to play in London for none other than Bethnal Green. If you are a fan of the Harris Brother’s, you know they grew up on this pitch. All of our favorite Harris’ make an appearance in this book. Zander is nervous about coming to London. He knows this is huge for his soccer career, but he’s there for other reasons as well. Still reeling from the death of his father, Zander is trying to find his place in the world. When he meets sassy Daphney Clarke, all bets are off.

“I love you, but those cookies taste like prison food and regret.”

Daphney Clarke has many jobs. Jingle writer, bar maid, and property manager for her brother Hayden’s apartment complex. When her new neighbor, the hot and totally American footballer, Zander Williams crashes into her life, she will finally realize what’s she been missing. While they start off as “casual”, suddenly feelings become involved and she will do whatever it takes to guard her heart.

“That’s what great love is. You have to try for great love, no matter the risk.”

5 goal scoring stars!!!! Zander and Daphney are EVERYTHING!!!!! I love how you see the growth between these two characters throughout the book. You feel what they are feeling, you laugh when they laugh, and you will love the witty banter between them. So excited that the Harris Family makes an appearance throughout this book. You may have had a favorite Harris brother, but Zander will steal your heart and never give it back. Zander and Daphney FOREVER!!!!!!
