NEW AUDIOBOOK REVIEW FROM DANA
The Vampire’s Mail Order Bride
(Nocturne Falls #1)
By Kristen Painter
Narrated by B.J. Harrison
Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town where Halloween is celebrated 365 days a year. The tourists think it’s all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernatural’s populating the town know better. Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs and all.
This was such a sweet, quirky, and cute story! Kristen Painter built the characters and town that was so perfect and loveable. Nocturn Falls reminds me a lot of Halloween Town in A Nightmare Before Christmas and writer Molly Harper’s Half-Moon Hollow town. I’m not used to clean romances, so I kept waiting for more. I feel like the intensity between Hugh and Delaney could’ve been better. But that just could be me not being used to clean romances where they basically kiss and then fade to black. This was a light and fluffy read. I had just finished an intense thriller, so this was exactly what I needed. I really love the town and would love to visit again in the rest of the series.
BJ Harrison was perfectly cast for this role. His timing, pitch, and pacing were spot on. He flawlessly transitioned between characters and accents, making each person distinguishable. He brought the story to life. I would highly recommend the audiobook version of this story.
