Pieces of You (Duet #1) by Jay McLean

This is an honest review for an arc received.

“And there’s not a single piece of me that sees you the way you see yourself.”

Jameson (Jamie) Taylor has lived a tragic life. Totally living on her own and trying to survive her senior year of high school, she’s going through the motions. Never did she think that joining the Outreach Club would bring her face to face with the one boy she never wanted nor knew she needed.

“You’re the only puzzle I couldn’t complete, Jameson Taylor.”

Holden Eastwood is the typical high school jock. He’s a total player and takes nothing seriously except his mom and his best friend back home. When he’s ultimately partnered with the weird new girl who dresses like a grandma, little does he know that she sees the real him. As they grow closer, events happen and more tragedy ensues.

“You’re not here to be average, Jamie. You’re here to be extraordinary.”

5 heart crushing stars. OMG Jay McLean you destroyed my heart. These two characters will draw you in from the moment you meet them. Jamie is a character that I will feel for for a long time. Just the things she’s been through in her life and not once has she allowed it to truly break her. Holden, well you will want to punch him and then hug him. I love how he never gives up trying to know Jamie. Their relationship was hot and steamy but you could feel the emotions oozing off the pages. I will warn you this book ends with a huge cliffhanger, and the epilogue destroyed my heart. Jay McLean, I need you to make my heart happy again. Please and thank you!
