This is an honest review for an arc received.
Eason Maxwell is singer, songwriter. Married to Jessica with a beautiful little daughter Luna, he’s struggling to give them the life they deserve. The one person he can count on is Rob Winters, his best friend, who happens to be married to his wife’s best friend Bree. One fateful night Eason’s life is blown apart and lives will never be the same. While struggling through his grief, he turns to the one person who always saw the worst in him, Bree.
Bree Winters has lost the love of her life and her best friend all in one tragic night. After offering Eason and Luna a place to stay, an unexpected friendship develops. Partners in their grief and finding a way to coexist, they develop a unique and unwavering friendship. But as friendship develops into something neither one of them ever expected, a ghost from their past turns their world upside down.
5 beautifully tragic stars! This is the first book I’ve ever read from Aly Martinez and it will not be the last. This story gutted me. You feel every ounce of Eason and Bree’s heartbreak. You slowly start to see how well they work together as a team. You can’t help but cheer them on when they give into the feelings that have been building between them. I loved every single thing about this story especially the twist towards the end of the book. They were the perfect ying to each other’s yang. An absolutely amazing book! I highly recommend.
