This is an honest review for an arc received.
“Because you know that sometimes doing the right thing doesn’t necessarily mean doing the right thing for you.”
Yasmin Hernandez has a secret. Well 2 actually. One is well known…She hates jocks! Yasmin is determined to fill her days with classes and work to the point of exhaustion. Her disdain for Nixon Cole is unprecedented. But when her car dies in the middle of a snow storm, none other than Nixon Cole comes to her rescue. When she learns his secret and becomes his confidant, things begin to heat up between these two.
“You know my darkness, and I want to know yours.”
Nixon Cole star college QB is keeping a devastating secret of his own. When events unfold and Yasmin is there for him in his time of need, their connection grows. When his world is shattered, will he be able to see through his pain or will he push away the one person that truly brings his heart and soul peace?
“You’re worth everything.”
4 1/2 stars of beauty. This book has all of the feels. You can’t help but admire Yasmin’s determination and her huge heart. You will understand why she is the strong woman she is. But underneath that tough exterior is a heart of pure gold that vies for acceptance and love. Nixon, well he is the popular jock on campus. Fiercely loyal to those he loves, he never wants to feel like a burden. But even the toughest of individuals have a breaking point, and needs an amazing support system to fall back on. Anna B. Doe captures all of the emotions of her characters and you feel everything with them from start to finish. Well done!
