This is an honest review for an arc received.
“Why would I give you my words when all you do is twist them into something ugly?”
Lavender Waters was always a shy, scared little girl who was very dependent on her twin brother River. Although a major event happened when she was a young child, she didn’t allow that to control her life. She’s battled her anxiety issues, and has become a stronger young woman. Although the one person who she truly loves cut her deeper than she thought possible, she’s determined to stand on her own two feet. Lavender is an amazingly talented seamstress and she uses this as her escape. But what happens when you are suddenly faced with the one person you love, your soulmate, on a daily basis and all he does is cut you down and destroy more pieces of your heart?
“Sometimes the truth is dark and dirty. Isn’t that right, Bowman?”
Kodiak “Kody” Bowman has loved Lavender Waters for most of his life. After their parents see the dependency issues that they have with one another, at a very young age, they step in. The best way for him to move on is to forget her before he can destroy her. What he doesn’t realize is all of the little lies that he’s told her, will come back to slap him right in the face, literally. Lavender isn’t the scared little girl that needs saving. She’s developed into a stronger young woman who’s found her voice, and boy does she use it. Can he continue to stay away? Why does it hurt so much to cut her down?
“You can start by erasing all the little lies with truths.”
5 amazingly, beautiful stars! Just wow! If you read the Pucked Series and the All In Series, you’ve seen Lavender and Kody grow as children. I never knew the depths that these two characters had with one another until their story. I love how H. Hunting showed the progress each one achieved with dealing with their anxiety issues and their co-dependency. This book was well written, and the children are just as crazy as their parents. I absolutely loved this story, and I’m so glad that this book ended with a Happily Ever After. You can’t help but fall in love with Lavender.
