New Audiobook Review from Dana
Beauty’s Daddy
Series: Billionaire Daddies #1
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Gunnar Qualen & Jenna St. Claire
Genre: Erotica, Adult Fairy Tale Retelling

“They call me the ‘beast’ for a reason.”
Sawyer Gryffon’s fiancé died tragically 10 years ago. Though it was not his fault, the townspeople still blame him. He keeps himself locked away in his mansion. A billionaire recluse. Annabelle Symphony is a waitress living a poor life, just doing her best to take care of her sick mother and make ends meet. An unfortunate event leads to Annabelle living with Sawyer, pretending to be his wife. Whether she likes it or not, Sawyer is now her daddy.
There were parts of the story that felt a bit too rushed for me. I did feel the connection between Annabelle and Sawyer, but it seems to have moved too fast for that deep of a connection. The steam factor was definitely there though. This was my first book in the daddy genre. It wasn’t over the top BDSM at all. It was actually gentler, feeling like more of a love story with some spankings. I did feel like the way Annabelle spoke was too proper. At times it felt like I was listening to someone recite something they had written versus speaking normally. But overall, I did enjoy this book and would visit this author again. I highly recommend it as a starter into this genre.
The story was told as dual POV and the audio enhanced this by narrating it as a duet. Both narrators did an excellent job with their parts. I though Jenna St. Claire portrayed Annabelle very well and perfectly voiced Annabelle’s moments of shyness, nervousness, stubbornness, and intrigue very well. Gunnar Qualen was especially exceptional. His portrayal for Sawyer was spot on for this dominant daddy role as well as for a Beauty and the Beast retelling. I thought his voice matched well to the fairy tale version of “The Beast”. His gruffy tone and growls were perfect for a dominant alpha male.
