Swing and a Mishap (Summersweet Island Book 2) by Tara Sivec

This is an honest review for an arc received.

The gang is back for the second installment to The Summersweet Island books! Wren Bennett has been in love with Shepard Oliver for most of her life. She is completely heart-broken when Shepard gets drafted to the MLB and decides on having a one-night stand. This is how she ends up with Owen, her son, and her pride an joy. After posting a video of Owen playing baseball, Shepard messages her and gives pointers to help improve Owen’s batting. This starts off a rekindling of all of the feelings that she had towards Shepard.

“You can’t even last five minutes without speaking to me. You’re not very dedicated to your anger.”

Shepard Oliver, after a devastating injury, finds himself retired from baseball and heading back to Summersweet Island, and the woman he is determined to win back. Wren doesn’t make it easy on him, and neither does the rest of the gang. But Shepard will stop at nothing to win back Wren’s heart and to have the family he’s always wanted.

“Spilling your guts after all this time in a bunch of messages online…I’m gonna need to get a bumper sticker that says Honk if your kid is as dumb as mine!”

OMG! Shepard & Wren’s story was hysterical! I laughed the entire time I was reading this book. The banter, one-liners and complete sarcasm is 100% classic Tara Sivec!! I loved every minute of it. I’m still waiting for her to use and abuse my name in one of her future books…one can only hope! If you’re looking for a book that is laugh out loud funny, and will keep a smile on your face throughout the entire story, well stop right here and one-click this today.

Tara Sivec hit a Grand Slam (or grand salami – depending on your travel ball team) with this book! Round the bases, and start a fight, this book was totally out of sight!!!!!!! 5 stars!!!
