Behind the Plate by J. Sterling

This is an honest review for an ARC received.

“You’re like an emotional tornado, whipping things up, changing them all around, and the expecting me to like the chaos.”

Chance F’In Carter! I’ve been patiently waiting to hear about our beloved Jack & Cassie Carter’s son. This book was E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! J. Sterling hit a home run and threw a complete game with this book.

Chance is the perfect mix of his father and his mother, with a perfect dash of all Chance. He’s in his draft year (Junior in college) and is completely focused on improving his game to get drafted into the Major Leagues.

Danika, is a tough talking New Yorker, living her college life in California. Although she is with her life long boyfriend, and thinks she has her life planned out, she’s caught in a run down with Chance.

“Just because you have a past with someone doesn’t mean that you owe them your future.”

When Danika is tasked with tutoring Chance, the sparks between these two instantly fly. Their chemistry is undeniable. Although neither acts on the pull between them at first, Chance gives Danika something she never knew she was missing. These two characters showed growth the entire story. Chance was not your typical jock, and Danika was not your typical heroine. This story was well written and keeps you so involved in their epic love story.

I’ve waited for Chance’s story for a long time, and it was totally worth every minute. I literally devoured this book. It was great checking in on the rest of the Carter clan. The supporting characters were amazing and well developed. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

“I found the love of my life my junior year too.”

This book is an amazing 5 stars. Even though this is a sports romance, the love story completely takes center field! This book is must read for all of the Jack Carter fans out there. I think after you read Chance’s story you just might have a new favorite Carter!

Until Next Time…Read On!
