GETTING SCHOOLED

Callie Carpenter comes home from California to help her parents and gets a temporary job in the theatre department at her old high school. Of course, she runs in to none other than her high school sweetheart, Garrett Daniels, who also works at the school as a coach and history teacher. Garrett offers to help Callie acclimate to the school and students. Garrett has never loved anyone but Callie. And now that she’s back he doesn’t want to let her go. Even though they haven’t spoken in more than a decade, their hearts remember each other. They begin a new friendship that quickly picks up right where they left off.

Is describing this book as perfect too cliché? Whatever, it was PERFECT! Firstly, Emma’s story writing skills are amazing! The storyline is hilarious, sexy, fun, heart-warming, and romantic. The characters banter was witty. You can’t read/listen to this book without smiling from ear to ear. It was cute and funny with some extra steamy scenes.

Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt are 2 of my favorite narrators. The narration was energetic and lively, well-characterized, and connected. They embodied their characters. Their comedic performance enhanced the humor in this audiobook. This is definitely one of the most enjoyable audiobooks I’ve listened to.
