This is an honest review for an arc received.
“You’ve always been the main character in my story, Leo Preston.”
OMG! My heart literally could not handle this book. Leo Preston, the quiet, broody Preston boy, just destroyed my heart (in an amazing way)! This story was EVERYTHING!!!! This was an amazing story about two very similar yet very different individuals who have anxiety and fears on multiple levels. It is a coming of age story, with a HEA, but boy does Mrs. McLean make them work for it.
“You can love someone, and there’s no measure of that love, no way to determine if it truly exists or not, but you can feel it, and know that it’s there.”
Leo and Mia both have their issues, even as young children. The way Mrs. McLean wrote this story is in “parts.” Each part is a different period in their lives, and you get to witness their growth, and watch their undying love for each other (they’ve loved each other since from their early teenage years). Each character has to learn how to deal with the specific issues that they have, and sometimes it is brutal. I will have to say, I like where the plot twist in the story went, and how Leo and Mia overcame it.
“Someday, Leo, you’ll be a king in someone’s kingdom.”
This book is a 5 million eleventy-three stars! I devoured this book (one day). It is a much longer story than some of the authors’s past books, but the way she tells their love story is everything. If you are familiar with her Preston boys and Lucy, you will be delighted to see a glimpse of what’s going on with that crazy brood. I absolutely loved this book, and I can’t wait for the rest of the Preston boys.
“I like being the main character in your story.”
Until Next Time…Read On!
