The Memory Watcher by Minka Kent

The Memory Watcher is a domestic thriller and a malingering, psychological mind f**k! I put the synopsis below, but don’t read it. Trust me on this, just go in blind. The Memory Watcher is that good! I devoured every bit of this book. There’s obsession, plot twists, and secrets. Let’s see… what type of emotions did I feel from this book?… confusion, horror, creeped out, sadness, shock, manipulated, disturbed, and numb. Just when you think you know what is happening, you’re proven wrong. Minka Kent wrote a very clever and engaging story. I like that she told the story from both Autumn’s and Daphne’s POV. It aided in keeping the story-line so addictive and intriguing. This was my first book by Kent, but it definitely won’t be my last. Hard to believe this was Kent’s debut novel. If she continues to write like this, she has a very promising career ahead of her!
Synopsis: When Autumn Carpenter stumbles upon the social media account of the family who adopted her infant daughter years ago, she finds herself instantly drawn into their picture-perfect existence. From behind a computer screen, Autumn watches Grace’s every memory, from birthdays to holidays to bedtime snuggles. But what starts as an innocent fascination spirals into an addictive obsession met with a screeching halt the day the McMullen family closes their Instaface account without so much as a warning. Frantic and desperate to reconnect with her daughter, Autumn applies for a nanny position with the McMullens, manipulating herself into Grace’s life under false pretenses. And it’s only then that Autumn discovers pictures lie, the perfect family doesn’t exist, and beautiful people? They have the ugliest secrets.
