Timothy by Mark Tufo

Short, creepy and very twisted. It was on sale for $2, otherwise I may not have read it. Mark Tufo gives us a different take on zombie apocalypse. This story is told from the zombie’s point of view. There’s no warm and fuzzies from Timothy’s mind, like with R in Isaac Marion’s book Warm Bodies. Timothy was a monster before he became a monster. Well, maybe not so much a monster but he was a huge asshole. A miserable asshole who plays a clown at kids parties as a side job. This book is very well written and graphic, as well as demented, sick, grotesque, and a bit perverse. Timothy’s mind and his zombie body are at odds with each other. Which is why I used words like grotesque, perverse, and sick. I really enjoyed this book, so I probably need some psychotherapy. I think Timothy would make a great adult comic book series. Fellow reader Shana Festa says “I fear for [Mark] Tufo’s wife when she sleeps. I’m not sure I could close my eyes around a mind that produces this stuff.” Well said, Shana!
Synopsis:
Timothy was not a good man in life and being undead did little to improve his disposition. Find out what a man trapped in his own mind will do to survive when he wakes up to find himself a zombie controlled by a self-aware virus.
