If you’re looking for a book that angst, then let me recommend Enemies, by Tijan. Tijan is one of my favorite authors, and I devour anything she writes. This book doesn’t disappoint. This book has everything, from young friendship, anger, hate, heartbreak and sorrow, to the greatest kind of love. This emotional roller coaster is totally worth it. This book is a complete stand alone.
Stone and Dusty were best friends growing up. They lived next door to each other and did everything together, until 6th grade. At the beginning of 6th grade Stone changes (dumb boys lol), and they are now bitter enemies.
Fast forward many years, Dusty is now a recent college transfer student, and loner. Her new roommates are the schools “mean girls” and of course are the party house. Although they don’t want her living with them, she sticks to herself. Unfortunately for her, she’s moved to the one town that her sworn enemy was the school football hero and is now the professional football who is loved by all.
Stone, is living his life, until he receives a phone call from home and is sent to deliver some devastating news to none other than his sworn enemy Dusty. Now she is suddenly there, and he is forced to help her. The more time these two spend with each other, the more they let go of the past and start falling for each other.
This was a great read and I love these characters. There was a few spots in the book that felt rushed and was mentioned with little background or resolution, but besides that this was a great story.
I give this 4.5 angst stars!!!!
Until Next Time…Read On!
