Where She Went by Gayle Foreman – 2nd in the “If I Stay” duet

First off, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT read the synopsis for the 2nd book before you finish If I Stay!
Where She Went ties everything together from If I Stay. In this book, we read the aftermath of what happened in the first book. Together these 2 books make for a beautiful story that I will remember forever! I actually liked Where She Went a little better than If I Stay. There’s such raw emotional power in this book. You felt every ounce of recovery, anger, pain, despair, grief, and sorrow. You felt connected to the characters. This duet concluded the story beautifully, tying everything up in a pretty bow.
“I needed to hate someone and you’re the one I love the most, so it fell on you.”
Synopsis:
It’s been three years since the devastating accident… three years since Mia walked out of Adam’s life forever. Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard’s rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia’s home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future – and each other.
Told from Adam’s point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.
“A day might be just twenty-four hours but sometimes getting through just one seems as impossible as scaling Everest.”
