Into the Darkness by K.F. Breene – book 1 in the “Darkness” series

The cover and free read is what drew me to read Into The Darkness. This book wasn’t too great… but just good enough that I want to read the next one. I think it would’ve been better if the book was longer. It needs more depth to it. With more I could’ve given it 5 stars. Totally worth the free read though. I hear the rest of the series gets better so that’s a plus. At the end of the day, a book with vampires, magic, and sexy alpha males is never a bad thing. I will say that there are some intense events involving rape, so this book isn’t for the faint of heart. There’s sex that is consensual and not. It also contains some nonconsensual m/m scenes.  I think if I read this book again at a different time, I may like it more. All in all, it’s definitely a good start to the series and I do recommend it if you are over the age of 18.
