Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan (stand alone book)

I truly believe that there’s nothing John Green can’t write that I won’t love. I literally laughed out loud almost the entire audiobook listen. My coworkers were looking at me like I was crazy while I was laughing out loud at one of the numerous hilarious quotes in this book. And now I definitely need to read more my David Levithan now. His writing style was excellent and so incredibly funny! It was wonderful to watch Will and Will meet and change each other’s lives forever. John Green’s Will Grayson was my favorite of the 2 Will Grayson’s but they were both equally amazing characters. And Tiny, oh sweet Tiny, how much I love thee! To quote Mean Girls: Tiny is ‘almost too gay to function’. I need a Tiny Cooper in my life. This story is romantic with wonderful and vivid themes and a unique plot.
I strongly recommend listening to the audiobook version of this book instead of reading it. The audio version gives this book so much more than reading it ever could. The narrator even sings all the songs. I just don’t feel that reading the book could be nearly as enjoyable as listening to it.
“I awake to the sound of my alarm clock, blaring rhythmically, and it seems as loud as an air siren, shouting at me with such ferocity that it sort of hurts my feelings.”
Synopsis:
Will Grayson meets Will Grayson. One cold night, in a most unlikely corner of Chicago, two strangers are about to cross paths. From that moment on, their world will collide, and lives intertwine. It’s not that far from Evanston to Naperville, but Chicago suburbanites Will Grayson and Will Grayson might as well live on different planets. When fate delivers them both to the same surprising crossroads, the Will Graysons find their lives overlapping and hurtling in new and unexpected directions. With a push from friends new and old – including the massive, and massively fabulous, Tiny Cooper, offensive lineman and musical theater auteur extraordinaire – Will and Will begin building toward respective romantic turns-of-heart and the epic production of history’s most awesome high school musical.
“Everyone in our school has after-school activities. Mine is going home.”
“Rolf! What? Are you really rolling on the floor laughing? Well, please stay down there for a sec while I KICK YOUR ASS.”
“Dating you would be like a series of unnecessary root canals interspersed with occasional make-out sessions.”
