This book is the first book in the Pucked Series spin off. All of our favorite Pucked characters are in featured throughout this book, and we get a glimpse of their lives since the series ended.
Rook (aka RJ) meets Lainey on a plane ride to Alaska. RJ literally saves Lainey from death by strangulation with her own scarf. They eventually wind up on the same small plane heading to Kodiak Island. Lainey is going there to finish up some school work, and RJ is going for some quiet downtime with his brother for the off season.
When RJ’s brother is unable to make the trip, he goes to spend the time by himself. Lainey is staying in a cabin a few miles away.
They spend a magical 6 weeks together and start to fall for each other when a family emergency takes RJ away suddenly. Although Lainey hopes that he will return before she leaves, that doesn’t happen. She leaves a heartfelt note that he never finds.
Fast forward to over a year later, RJ is still yearning over Alaska Girl (Lainey). When they have a chance run in at the aquarium, where a teammate his having his kids birthday party.
When Lainey realizes that RJ lied about his profession, she is hurt, although she is keeping a secret herself. Once her secret is exposed RJ pulls out all of the stops to win back her heart and trust.
This books has all of the feels. It’s romantic, sweet, funny and sexy. I loved this adorable couple and the chance to catch up with some of my favorite Pucked characters.
