This book has all of the feels, from laughter, to romance and heartache. The story was well written and fantastic, in my opinion. You have the broody, hot shot NBA player, who of course is drop dead gorgeous, this is Reese. Then we have the quirky and withdrawn Charlie. You instantly want to cheer her on, to find herself and her happiness again. I mean, she asks ridiculous questions when she is nervous and she can’t help herself. The questions are laugh out loud funny. She is also a total basketball fan (the girl knows her stats!).
The way Reese, eventually responds to her, is swoon worthy. Charlie tells him that no one ever answered her crazy questions before. You can clearly tell when the two start to develop feelings towards each other. Reese is the one that helps Charlie slowly find herself again. The passion they have towards each other is pretty hot too!
You will eventually learn the real reason behind Charlie’s heartbreak and it is something that will truly touch your heart. Reese has his fair share of heartache too, and to see them work to help each other out is amazing.
I absolutely loved this book, from start to finish. This is a complete stand alone, even though I wish Tijan would write more about Reese and Charlie. I loved these characters and didn’t want this story to ever end.
This book was a 5 STAR!!!!!!!! This should be an instant one-click for sure!
