This story was a dark, twisted and disturbing roller coaster ride that left me with conflicting emotions.

Why do we seek shelter in those that have hurt us the most? Did I enjoy this novel – how dare I enjoy this novel? I was almost appalled at myself but I just couldn’t put the damn thing down. I was compelled to carry on and horrified to find myself empathizing with Caleb.

I had to wait 2 days after reading before typing because I was too emotionally exhausted from the rawness of this story to write a review at that time. I had to let my brain relax and soak up (or comprehend) what I had just read.

I hate myself for continuing to read this book because of the sick, sadistic and crude content but I couldn’t stop reading. It is intense. It’s also addictive so I just purchased the 2nd book.
