“Thief” is the third book in the “Love Me with Lies” trilogy by Tarryn Fisher. I recently gave you a review on the first book, The Opportunist, and told you how it gave me ALL the feels and drove me to the brink of insanity. I told you to think of every single emotion you could possibly feel and then imagine feeling them all at once. Well the same applies to this entire trilogy, up until the ending.
Synopsis: Caleb Drake never got over his first love. Not when he got married. Not when she got married. When life suddenly comes full circle Caleb must decide how far he is willing to go to get the aloof and alluring Olivia Kaspen back. But for every action in life there is a consequence, and soon Caleb finds out that sometimes love comes at an unbearably high price.
Just like the first book, Thief is a multilayered story about very complex and flawed characters. It’s heart-breaking and utterly addictive. There were just enough holes in the story to keep you on edge and guessing until the last chapter. This isn’t just a love story – it’s a testament to a love that is so profound that it never goes away. No matter where their lives taken them, Caleb and Olivia always find their way back to each other.
“Let me carry you out. I’ll never let you touch the ground. I was made to carry you, Olivia. You’re fucking heavy with all of your guilt and self-loathing. But I can do it. Because I love you.”
ll do whatever I have to do to protect you. I’ll lie, cheat, and steal to make you okay. I’ll share your suffering, and I’ll carry you when you’re weighed down. I’ll never leave you, not even when you ask me to.”
Tarryn’s excellent writing gives us twists and turns from the very first chapter. Tarryn never disappoints. She messes with your mind like no author can. Her characters are unforgettable and her writing is superb. Thief is everything you could want in a story and more. This is love story will haunt me forever. 5 Everything-I-Never-Knew-I-Needed-In-A-Book stars!!
