Twists and turns that you won’t see coming!

Happy Sunday to all my fellow book nerds!  This week coming up will be a BIG week for me and my NOLAnerds, Angie and Tiffany.  Wednesday evening, we head out on a 10-hour drive from NOLA to Louisville Kentucky.  We are attending the Readers On The River event presented/hosted by J. R. Ward and 1,001 Dark Nights.  There will be 20 amazing authors there to entertain us with panels, questions and answer sessions, book signings, etc.  Can I just tell you how excited we are?  WE ARE SO FLIPPING EXCITED!!!  It’s also my first BFF girls’ trip in years.  I’m excited to escape the everyday life of workplace stress, college, and a dancer daughter.  I’m moving next week so I’ve been doing a lot of packing and purging.  It’ll be great to escape all these boxes for a few days!

One of the great things about these events is that it introduces us to new authors within the genres we like.  In preparation of the event, in an attempt to enhance my experience, I decide to read a book by each other that I hadn’t read before.  It’s always a wonderful experience to find a new author that thrills and excites you!  And any author recommended by J. R. Ward and 1,001 Dark Nights has GOT to be amazing, right?!

This week I want to talk to you about “Deadly Silence” by Rebecca Zanetti, published in October 2016. – Under siege. That’s how Ryker Jones feels. The Lost Bastards Investigative Agency he opened up with his blood brothers has lost a client in a brutal way. The past he can’t outrun is resurfacing, threatening to drag him down in the undertow. And the beautiful woman he’s been trying to keep at arm’s length is in danger…and he’ll destroy anything and anyone to keep her safe.  Paralegal Zara Remington is in over her head. She’s making risky moves at work by day and indulging in an affair with a darkly dangerous PI by night. There’s a lot Ryker isn’t telling her and the more she uncovers, the less she wants to know. But when all hell breaks loose, Ryker may be the only one to save her. If his past doesn’t catch up to them first…

Deadly Silence is the first book in the “Blood Brothers” series and a spin-off from Zanetti’s Sin Brother’s series.   Ryker is protective, broody and demanding.  He’s smart and capable with great morals and loyalty to Zara and his brothers.  He and Zara were already involved in your basic sexy-only relationship for months before the book starts.  Despite that, the tension in this book is still high.  Ryker and his brothers Heath and Denver are investigators of a sort.  They are in town searching for a serial killer when Ryker notices Zara may be in danger.  He doesn’t just want to protect her though.  He wants her – all of her.  Zara is strong yet vulnerable.  She fights for what she believes in but loves for Ryker to be in charge in the bedroom.

“Don’t tell me what to do,” she whispered, fighting need along with her temper. “You like me telling you what to do.” “Only in bed,” she burst out. He smiled, the expression gentle and dangerous all at once. “Then get in bed.”

I would best describe this book as a romantic suspense novel.  Its action packed, suspenseful, romantic, and very hot.  The story-line keeps you on the edge of your seat.  You can’t stop reading because you have to know what happens next.  It’s full of twists, turns, intrigue, and happy surprises.  It’s funny and loving.  It’s also unpredictable, which is a necessity in a suspense novel.  There isn’t a cliff hanger, but there is unfinished business to be handled in the next books in the series.  I’ve officially fallen in love with Zanetti’s writing style.  She has the ability to write an unforgettable story that sucks you in.

If you are looking for a romantic suspense full of shocking turns, sexy alpha, heroes, swoon worthy romance, and gasp worthy suspense – look no further than Rebecca Zanetti.  I’ve officially jumped into the Zanetti bandwagon.

Have a great week everyone!
