Don’t give me that Malarkey!

Hey y’all. I’m Tiffany. This is probably going to be all over the place going from one subject to the next, mainly because that is how my brain functions. Let me start by saying, I am beyond uncomfortable with talking about myself. I get so stuck in my own mind, that I don’t know where to begin. So here goes my first blog.

Angie, Dana, and I met at work. They had been working together for a while when I got hired on as a temp to hire (fun times). I have the Nook (Barnes and Noble’s version of an e reader). So one day I was in the lunch room eating with my Nook open to a book I had been reading when Dana and Angie come sit down at the table (I was sitting alone). They got so excited I was reading a book they just started asking me questions about the book I was reading (can’t remember what is was, but if you ask Angie she would probably remember). Then they started telling me the books they were both reading and then one thing lead to another and as they say, the rest is history. BFF’s for life!

I’ll read pretty much any book recommendation. I am open to just about all genres except horror. I can’t do it, I get nightmares, and I am just not a happy camper. Angie calls me a big baby, but I’m alright with that because I just call her on her shenanigans.

We decided to try to get a book from each one of the twenty authors for a signing we will be attending at the end of the month. Maybe you’ve heard of it? Readers on the River? We will be driving from Metairie, LA (outside of New Orleans) to Louisville, KY (I know, we’re Crazy!). This is going to be about a 10-11 hour car ride with Dana in the back seat reading us a book. (We all know Dana will be asleep within the first hour of driving.)

This will be my second book signing. The first one was Bella Nola last year, and you guessed it, in New Orleans. Since that one, I have been hooked and wanted to start going to more signings to meet the authors and get new reading material. The three of us have decided to try to go to at least one new book signing each year. This is going to be a new tradition for me. I would like to try to go to a book signing in every state and then venture out to other countries. – Any recommendation for a book signing would be greatly appreciated! –

So now onto my first book recommendation. Maggie’s Grove by one of my go to authors, Dana Marie Bell. The first book in this series is Blood of the Maple. I really enjoyed Parker and Amara’s story, and the introduction to the people of Maggie’s Grove. Blood of the Maple is a rather unique story with a vegetarian vampire, a ghost, and a dryad. Not wanting to go into too much detail (I would give away the whole book). I give this book a 4.2 our of 5 stars. I highly recommend.
