Hey guys! Thought I would pop on by and let you know a little bit about me. I’m Angie, a wife, a mom, a BFF, and a total book NERD (not as big of a nerd as Dana, but that will be our secret lol).
I first got back into reading with the moms on my youngest son’s travel baseball team. They were very adamant that I read 50 Shades of Gray, and the rest is history. I can read anywhere from 2-4 books a week (this is reading at night, in the morning, during lunch, waiting for my son to get out of practice, in the bathtub, you name it I find a time and place!). I work full-time, and my youngest keeps me very busy.
Dana and I met at work, and we totally bonded over our love of books. I read almost any genre. From laugh out loud funny, to grab some tissues I’m dying here, to some that (gasp) make me want to throw my Kindle against the wall. I’m literally all over the damn place.
So now that you know a little bit about me, my first series recommendation will be my go to, the Eagle Elite series by one of my favorite authors, Rachel Van Dyken.
This series started off as a YA series and she gradually upped the ante to straight romance, starting with her fourth book Elicit. This series follows the lives of some of the youngest mafia bosses in Chicago. I mean what’s not to love, hot Italian badasses, money, and mayhem!
Each book is based on a primary couple, however, all secondary characters are featured throughout the books. All of these characters are constantly developed and she ties up storylines in future books. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. A brief description of each character/couple and their feature books are included in her later books. I do love the fact, that as new characters are introduced, the ones that I’ve come to love (and hate) are still intertwined within the stories. There are twists and turns that keep you guessing but do they get their HEA? You will have to read the books to find out.
These books are not overrun with sex scenes, they are there though, but it isn’t page after page.
I give this series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 stars!
